This was Her Look...

When I said "No, I won't fill your Oxycodone prescription ten days early."

"I dreamed a dream in times gone by.
When I was high and life worth living.
I dreamed, the Xanax would never die.
I dreamed the Doc would be forgiving.

Then I was young and unafraid
And drugs were made and used and wasted
There was no copay to be paid
No song unsung, no purple drank untasted.

But the Pharmacists come at night;
With their voices soft as thunder.
As they tear your hope apart
As they turn your addiction to shame.

He wept a summer by my side
He filled my scripts with endless wonder,
He took my oxycodone in his stride
But he was gone when audits came!"
